Battlefield Bad Company

A quartet of troublemakers took center stage in 2008, when we premiered Battlefield: Bad Company – in many ways a unique Battlefield game. Though the tried-and-true multiplayer was present, a more fleshed-out single-player story, , a focus on consoles, and a tongue-in-cheek tone was a new direction for us when creating the story of "B" Company and the fictional First Russo-American War.

However, the biggest piece of news was found under the hood: the first iteration of the Frostbite engine. With it, our Destruction 1.0 system gave players the opportunity to demolish the environment in tactical (and fun) ways and HDR Audio made different sound levels perceivable at the same time. Besides the Frostbite engine, the game was praised for its high tactical destruction, atmosphere, and the series’ trademark sandbox gameplay.
