Product Launch and Release is the tightknit team that ensures players have the best experience possible every time. We lead the cross-functional project team, with members from all functions throughout EA, that delivers the games to players. We are the guardians of EA’s players first approach and champions of collaborative effort.
We are now looking for a Technical Development Director (TDD) to strengthen the team. Working closely with the Launch Director, a TDD oversees the technical plans and coordination of the launch project. Through collaboration with the technical teams, the TDD develops a clear understanding of the overall system, tracks progress and manages associated risks driving for a common understanding and early resolution to issues and mitigation of risk. The TDD also leads the technical aspects of events and launches including planning for test in production and sign-offs from technical teams.
Although the specific areas of responsibility and authority shall be agreed upon per project basis with the Day-to-Day Manager we believe the following skills are required to excel as a TDD.
- Review technical project plans, and designs.
- Develop and communicate the technical overview and inter-system details.
- Discover, track, and communicate risks and technical changes.
- Establish technical mitigation plans to both remove issues before launch and address them immediately should they arise during live events.
- Lead troubleshooting and triage of technical issues during test and live launch events.
- Define and manage the technical goals of the launch effort including KPI.
Experience in project leadership process for example SCRUM, PMP, or other is of merit.
The ideal candidate has Strong communication skills both written, visual, and spoken. You are open and forthright in nature and can quickly establish new contacts and strengthen those relationships over time. You are an encouraging and positive team contributor with a willingness to step outside your domain to resolve issues.
